Important: Attendance at Welcome Week Events

Welcome Week for September 2026 will take place from 21st until 25th September 2026, with a range of events taking place each day. Effort should be made by you to attend all events listed within the below timetable.

Events are a chance to gain insight to your chosen degree programme, ask questions and get to know both staff and students in your department. We look forward to meeting you!

Welcome message from your Department

We would like to offer our heartfelt welcome to you for the 26/27 academic year.

Ahead of you is the exciting start of your journey within computer science and software engineering at Swansea University, but much more than that is the wider experience of higher education to come. With a range of social events, mini-projects, competitions and more, we hope that there is something for everyone and that you are able to immerse yourself in the experiences on offer. We wish you safe travels, and we look forward to welcoming you in-person during induction sessions.

Induction timetable 2026 - Year 0 Students

Monday 21st September

This timetable is applicable to those beginning Year 0 in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

11:00 – 13:00 - Year 0 Welcome Talk - 037, Great Hall

Meet your student course mates for the first time along with Key Academic Staff from your Department who will introduce your programme of study, provide you with key academic information and direct you to useful course resources.

14:00 – 15:00 - Year 0 & 1 Drop In - 102 Robert Recorde Room, Computational Foundry

There's a lot to take in on your first day. If you have questions, your Year Coordinators wil be able to help answer anything you want to know about your programme.

Tuesday 22nd September

Induction timetable 2026 - Year 1 students

Monday 21st September

This timetable is applicable to those beginning Year 1 in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

10:00 – 12:00 - Year 1 Welcome Talk - 043, Great Hall

Meet your student course mates for the first time along with Key Academic Staff from your Department who will introduce your programme of study, provide you with key academic information and direct you to useful course resources.

14:00 – 15:00 - Year 0 & 1 Drop In - 003 , Computational Foundry
